Before the Flames started their second full week of spring football practice, rising junior linebacker Brandon Tillmon met with the media on Tuesday to discuss the team's workouts.
Tillmon will use this year's spring workouts to help in his transition from safety to the linebacker position. The native of Lexington, S.C., started all 11 games at strong safety for the Flames during the 2017 season, finishing the year ranked second on Liberty's roster with 60 tackles (38 solo, 22 assisted). In two seasons with the Flames, Tillmon has recorded 84 tackles (57 solo, 27 assisted) to go along with two interceptions in 21 games played.
The Flames will near the midpoint of their spring practice workouts schedule this week with spring practices No. 5 to No. 7 of their 15 spring practice sessions. As previously announced, the Flames will not hold an annual spring football game due to the expansion construction taking place at Williams Stadium.
During its spring practice workouts, the Flames practice on Tuesday and Thursday evenings (5:45 to 7:45 p.m.) and Saturday mornings/afternoons. All of Liberty's spring practice workouts are closed to the general public and media.
