Liberty put two runners on in the bottom of the second, as Robertson singled and Kaitlin McFarland drew a walk. Moreno worked through trouble, getting a fielder's choice to end the inning.
SDSU stranded two runners in the third and one in the fourth before adding on a fifth-inning insurance run. Thompson hit a one-out double before later scoring on Smith's double with two outs, good for a 6-0 lead.
The Lady Flames rallied with two outs in the sixth, as Tori Zavodny walked and Taylor singled to center. Moreno kept her shutout bid intact by getting Jaclyn Amader to ground out the second.
San Diego State scored an unearned run in the top of the seventh, boosting its lead to 7-0.
Moreno completed the four-hit shutout with a 1-2-3 seventh inning.
