Tryout Information Liberty sophomore middle blocker Anna Gragg has received an invitation to try out for the U.S. Women's National Volleyball Team next week in Colorado Springs, Colo.
Gragg will be one of an estimated 200 or more athletes showcasing their abilities at the 2018 U.S. Women's National Team open tryout, which will be held March 2-4 at the U.S. Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, Colo.
USA Volleyball will be looking for athletes to compete in three separate U.S. Women's Collegiate National Teams, while also keeping an eye on prospective members of the U.S. Women's Senior National Team. One of the Collegiate National Teams will compete in Asia from May 20-31, while another will play in Europe from July 4-15, and the third team will compete in Detroit from June 22-July 1.
Gragg, a native of Missoula, Mont., is a two-time all-conference selection, including first-team honors in 2017. She had a dominant year as a sophomore, ranking second in the Big South in hitting percentage (.315) and fourth in blocks per set (0.93). During conference play, she hit .352 while posting 11 double-digit kill matches. On Nov. 3 at Presbyterian, she scored a career-high 26 kills at a .524 pace. Her 26 kills at PC were the most by any Liberty middle blocker during the rally-scoring era.
