Liberty captured the doubles point and won the No. 1, No. 3 and No. 4 singles matches. Junior Maria Medina, senior captain Evangeline Crist and freshman Polina Miroshnichenko led the way with their solo match victories. The Lady Flames did not drop a set in singles play.
"We faced a lot of adversity this weekend – weather, injuries and tough opponents – and got stronger as a result," stated Liberty Women's Tennis Head Coach Jeff Maren. "I believe that we created some momentum for ourselves because we were able to battle through the adversity here in Texas. We are already looking forward to next weekend!"
After not playing doubles on Sunday morning against Texas A&M, the Lady Flames secured the doubles point with victories on courts one and three. Playing for the first time together, Liberty junior Rebekah Anderson and freshman Grace Hashiguchi rolled to a 6-1 victory versus Kaja Ljubic and Armelle Cerdan.
The Ladyjacks drew even in doubles with a 6-2 win in the No. 2 slot from Gabi Guilarte and Siân Payne over the Lady Flames' Medina and Lara Soares.

Junior Medina extended the Liberty lead to 2-0, as she overwhelmed Guilarte in straight sets, 6-0, 6-1.
Playing her first match of the weekend, Miroshnichenko bested Kimal in two sets (6-2, 6-1) on court four. The Russia native's first victory of the spring brought the Lady Flames to within a point (3-0) of overall victory.
Crist closed out the match with a 6-1, 6-3 win in the No. 3 slot against Tiboldi to settle the score at 4-0.
Liberty's Anderson (No. 5 singles) led by a set and was up, 6-5, in the second set over Cerdan before play was halted. Dollar (court two) and Hashiguchi (court six) also won first sets over their opponents prior to Crist clinching the match.
