With its season just two weeks away, Liberty baseball kicked off 2018 with its first-ever First Pitch Banquet, Friday night. Several former Flames including former head coach Johnny Hunton (1991-97) and the evening's speaker Tony Beasley (1989) were among the sold-out crowd at the Monteview Banquet Room.
After a few words from Liberty Baseball Head Coach Scott Jackson, Beasley, the third base coach for the Texas Rangers and a colon cancer survivor, talked to the over 170-plus crowd about his journey to Liberty, his life after Liberty and how his faith helped him survive cancer.
LFSN's Nick Pierce, who served as the Master of Ceremonies for the evening, was on hand and brings us just a look at the evening's events.
