Thanks to her stellar play at the Roo Holiday Classic, Liberty sophomore post player Keyen Green was named to the all-tournament team.
Green, who averaged 13.0 ppg and 8.5 rpg as the Lady Flames went 1-1 in Kansas City, was joined on the team by MVP Savannah Scott (Northern Colorado), Courtney Smith (Northern Colorado), Kianna Williams (Northern Colorado), Claire Gritt (Denver) and Samantha Waldron (UMKC).
Green played a key role in Liberty's come-from-behind 82-69 win over Denver on Tuesday. The Lady Flames trailed by as many as 10 points before rallying. Green recorded 12 of her season-high 18 points and six of her season-best 10 rebounds after halftime. The double-double was her first of the year and the 10th of her career.
On Wednesday, Green finished with eight points and a team-high seven boards as the Lady Flames fell to Northern Colorado, 65-57, in the tournament's unofficial championship game.
Green has now made three all-tournament teams in her career, after being named to the Navy Classic and Cavalier Classic all-tournament squads in 2016-17.
Now 5-6 on the season, Liberty will wrap up non-conference play on Dec. 29 with a visit to No. 14/15 Duke (9-2). Tipoff is slated for 7 p.m. at Cameron Indoor Stadium.
