As the calendar winds down to the final days of 2017, the Liberty Flames Sports Network is looking back at the moments that made this athletics year special for Flames Nation.

Liberty Athletics Top Moments of 2017 continues today by looking at Moment No. 7, D.J. Artis earning All-America honors and finishing the season as an NCAA stats leader.

The 2017 Big South Player of the Year was named to three All-America teams following his stellar sophomore season: D1Baseball.com All-America second team and Baseball America and NCBWA All-America third teams. Artis is the seventh player in program history to be named a postseason All-American. Artis finished his 2017 season second in the nation with a .532 on base percentage and as the national leader in walks with 62.

The 2017 calendar year was another banner year in Liberty Athletics. Liberty won its 13th Big South Sasser Cup title and swept the Big South Sasser Cup, Men's All-Sport and Women's All-Sport trophy awards for the fourth time in athletics department history.

LibertyFlames.com thanks Flames Nation for its support of Liberty Athletics in 2017 and we look forward to another exciting year in 2018.
