After going 2-0 this past week with wins at Georgia State and Maryland Eastern Shore, Liberty's Isaiah Williams has been named the Big South Freshman of the Week.
The honor comes after Williams averaged 8.5 points, 3.0 rebounds and 2.0 assists against the Panthers and the Hawks. On offense, Williams was efficient from the floor, shooting 60 percent (6-10) in two games.
The native of Dayton, Ohio was a key component in Liberty's 16-point comeback in overtime at Georgia State. Williams filled the stat scoring eight points, along with a career-high four assists while pulling down four rebounds. The redshirt freshman was clutch from the free-throw line going 4-5 from the charity stripe.
Williams continued his success at home to close out the week against Maryland Eastern Shore making a career-high four field goals. Williams shot 80 percent for the game to help Liberty post its best start to a season since 2008. Williams and the Flames will return to action on Saturday, Dec. 16, when they host Kentucky Christian at the Vines Center.
