Liberty junior Amy Schools was named CCSA Women's Diver of the Week, after winning the one-meter springboard at last week's Central Virginia Duals.
Schools received her second CCSA Diver of the Week honor of the season, as she was also given the award on Oct. 10. She joins Brooke Fox (Oct. 6-13, 2015) as the only Liberty divers to win multiple diver of the week awards in one season. Her award is the 22nd weekly CCSA honor for the Liberty swimming & diving team in program history, including six diver of the week mentions and 16 swimmer of the week awards.
A native of Clinton, Md., Schools posted her first collegiate victory in the one-meter springboard, placing first in the discipline with a score of 216.15 points on Saturday at LaHaye Aquatics Center. Her 216.15 score is the highest by a Lady Flame so far this season, and places her fifth in program history in the event.
Liberty (6-2, 4-0 CCSA) will begin the New Year in Fort Myers, Fla., taking on three-time defending CCSA champion Florida Gulf Coast on Jan. 6 at 11 a.m. at FGCU Aquatics Center.
