Liberty University Director of Athletics Ian McCaw has announced Lady Flames Head Volleyball Coach Shane Pinder will not return. A national search for the program's eighth head coach will begin immediately.
Pinder recently completed his 14th season at Liberty when the Lady Flames were eliminated from the Big South Volleyball Championship by No. 1 seed High Point on Nov. 18. Liberty finished the season with a 12-19 overall record and an 8-8 record in Big South play.
Pinder is the winningest coach in program history, having posted a 250-195 overall record and a 143-61 mark in Big South Conference action.
Pinder guided the Lady Flames to four Big South titles and four trips to the NCAA Tournament (2007, 2008, 2011 and 2012). He also led Liberty to six Big South regular season titles and six trips to the Big South Volleyball Championship match (2007 to 2012).
Pinder was named the Big South Coach of the Ye.ar three times (2007, 2010 and 2012) and VaSID State Coach of the Year four times (2007, 2008, 2011 and 2012).
Liberty posted seven 20-win seasons under Pinder's leadership, with the final 20-win campaign coming in 2014.
