Saturday's Top Storylines 1. Liberty (6-4, 2-2 Big South) will travel to Charleston Southern (5-5, 2-2 Big South) for both teams' 2017 finale and Liberty's final Big South Conference game in program history. 2. Liberty and CSU were two of the four charter members of Big South football in 2002, and the Flames' first conference win came at the Buccaneers' hands. Saturday will mark the 25th all-time meeting between the two teams. 3. The Flames will look to close out their final season as FCS members with a four-game winning streak and reach the seven-win mark for the 17th time in program history. 4. Liberty will look to snap CSU's three-game winning streak in the head-to-head series, as no current Flame has ever appeared in a victory over the Buccaneers. Turner Gill is 16-4 in November games at Liberty, but three of those losses have been to the Buccaneers. 5. Liberty QB Stephen Calvert has set a program single-season record with 27 TD passes. Now Buckshot will set his sights on the Big South single-season TD passes (29) and passing yards (3,389) standards. 6. RB Carrington Mosley, one of 10 Liberty seniors who will be playing his final game on Saturday, has rushed for 100+ yards during five of the Flames' six wins in 2017, including each of the last three weeks.
A Liberty Win Would ... • Wrap up the Flames' 17th 7-win season in program history and their first since 2014. • Give the Flames a victory in their final Big South Conference game, closing out their 12th straight season with a .500+ conference record and making their all-time Big South mark 56-22. • Snap Charleston Southern's streak of three straight wins over the Flames, making CSU the first team Liberty has ever defeated 20 times (20-5 all-time record). • Improve the Flames' November record under Turner Gill to 17-4. • Give the Flames a season-long four-game winning streak, representing the team's fourth streak of 4+ consecutive wins under Turner Gill. • Mark the first season since 2013 that Liberty has won each of its last four games to close out the year.
