On Saturday, two Liberty women's tennis players dropped tough three-set matches on day two of the Hokie Fall Invite at the Burrows-Burleson Tennis Center.
Junior Lara Soares faced off against Virginia Tech's Sarah Baron in a semifinal match on Saturday. The players traded sets, as each competitor won, 7-5. However, Baron prevailed in the 10-point tiebreaker, 10-4, to win the match, 7-5, 5-7, 1-0 (10-4).
Soares will face James Madison's Emma Petersen in a third place match on Sunday at 10 a.m. in the Sacrifice flight.
Lady Flames junior Rebekah Anderson fell in three sets at the hands of Wofford's Cassidy Hicks.
Day three, the final day of competition, at the Hokie Fall Invite will begin at 9 a.m. at the Burrows-Burleson Tennis Center.
