Camacho won a three-set match on Friday at the Hokie Fall Invite.
Three Liberty women's tennis players won their respective matches on day one of the Hokie Fall Invite at the Burrows-Burleson Tennis Center, Friday.
Overall, the Lady Flames posted a 3-2 mark on day one of competition. Junior Lara Soares, sophomore Eugenia Camacho and freshman Grace Hashiguchi won their matches.
"We've been working on discipline lately, and today we were able to put it into practice effectively," said Liberty assistant coach Giancarlo Lemmi. "We look forward to more tough matches tomorrow!"
Soares, who is competing in the Sacrifice flight, bested Penn State's Liyun Xu, 6-2, 6-1 on Friday. The Brazil native is set to take on the Virginia Tech Hokies' Sarah Baron in a semifinal match, Saturday at 11 a.m.
Camacho traded sets with George Washington's Victoria Kogan in the Service flight before taking the third set, 6-3, and the match, 6-2, 4-6, 6-3.
In the Loyalty Flight, Hashiguchi defeated Mackenzie Myers of Miami, 6-3, 6-3, the fourth singles win of her rookie campaign with the Lady Flames. Lady Flames freshman Nasha Ghajar played Hashiguchi second scheduled match of the day. Wofford's Britt Wilbur topped Ghajar, 6-0, 7-5.
Day two of the Hokie Fall Invite will pick back up at 9 a.m. on Saturday with doubles play. Singles competition will commence at 10 a.m.
