The two-day, 54-hole event is hosted by Duke at its home course, the Duke University Golf Course, in Durham, N.C., (par 72, 7,154 yards).
In total, the Rod Myers Invitational has appeared on the fall portion of Liberty's schedule each of the last five seasons.
The Flames posted a pair of fourth-place finishes in 2012 (301-286-285-872/+8) and 2013 (294-282-293-869/+5). Liberty added a sixth-place finish in 2014 (290-298-296-884/+20) and 2015 (290-298-296-884/+20) and finished in 11th place in a rain-shortened event in 2015 (287-313-600/+24).
Liberty jumpstarted a banner year for the program last season with a runner-up finish at the 2016 Rod Myers Invitational. The Flames posted a 12-under par 852 (286-284-282) thanks to the stellar play of Kieran Vincent.
The native of Zimbabwe started his run to Big South and VaSID Rookie of the Year accolades by capturing medalist honors at the Rod Myers Invitational. Vincent fired a school-record 15-under par 201 (67-67-67) to win by six strokes.
Mickey DeMorat gave Liberty two players inside the top 10 at last year's Rod Myers Invitational when he finished tied for 10th place with a 1-under par 215 (71-70-74).
Hutson Chandler (79-74-70), Gabe Lench (76-76-71) and Isaiah Logue (72-73-78) all finished tied for 45th place with a 7-over par 223.
The Flames will be without the services of both Lench and Vincent, this weekend. Head coach Jeff Thomas' lineup will including return visits by DeMorat, Huston and Logue, while adding Ervin Chang and Alexandre Fuchs.
Chang played in seven events as a freshman last year, posting 76.00 season stroke average. Fuchs, who is a native of Mouans-Sartoux, France, will be making his collegiate duet just like Vincent did at last year's event.
Logue (71.80) and DeMorat (71.81) ranked first and second on Liberty's roster last season, while Chandler posted a 75.00 season stroke average in eight events.
