Liberty's four-week August training camp session comes to a close this weekend and Flames Head Coach Turner Gill previewed the final week of practice earlier today.
During his twice a week media session, Gill talked about closing out training camp by beginning to implement the coaching staff's game plan for Liberty's season opener at Baylor on Sept. 2.
Gill also recapped Liberty's scrimmage last Saturday, the team's third scrimmage since beginning practice on Aug. 1. During the Saturday afternoon workout, the Flames focused on situational plays, like a two-minute drill, goal line plays, two-point plays, etc.
The Flames' final week of training camp will conclude with Liberty's annual Flames Fan Fest event. Liberty Athletics will hold its sixth annual Flames Fan Fest event on Saturday in conjunction with Liberty's only open football practice during preseason training camp. Williams Stadium gates will open at 6 p.m. for the event and the team will scrimmage from 7 to 8 p.m. The event is free of charge and open to the general public.
