Liberty Athletics is all about Training Champions for Christ and the women's soccer program is connecting the past to the present. Former player, Kendall Alvey is giving back her time to the youth and using a helping hand in current student manager, Katie Douglass, for the Lady Flames.
Alvey played in 61 career games as a member of the Lady Flames but her impact on the field never stopped after she was done playing at Liberty. At the Sports Outreach Community Missionary, Alvey began not worrying about winning Big South titles but instead wanted to travel the world and make an impact on people's lives. She has been to Uganda where she was able to use the game of soccer to help others. That passion she developed overseas she brought back home to Lynchburg.
By grabbing volunteers and having local churches get involved back home, Alvey was able to host soccer camps for children. This is where Alvey used her Liberty roots as she turned to Liberty women's soccer team manager, Douglass, to help give back to the community.
