The Big South Conference recently feature Liberty sophomore pitcher Chase Cassady is its MUSCO Spotlight series.
Cassady, an Orlando, Fla., native, played a major role in Liberty's run to the NISC title. In the NISC Regional round, she was 1-0 with one shutout, one save and 19 strikeouts, allowing just five hits in 14 1/3 innings of shutout softball. She finished the season with a 6-8 overall record and 3.73 ERA. For the season, she ranked second in the conference with 6.5 strikeouts per seven innings. Cassady averages 7.24 strikeouts per game for her career.
