Game On recently told the unique story of Liberty track & field redshirt freshman javelin thrower Samuel Arter.
A native of Hamilton, Va., Arter initially hoped to play baseball at Liberty. However, he ended up joining the track & field team as a javelin thrower for the 2017 season.
Arter's first season with the Flames was a rousing success, as he finished as the Big South men's javelin runner-up and placed 19th at the NCAA Division I East Preliminary Round meet. Arter already ranks No. 4 in program history with his 220-1 heave at the Big South meet. For more videos featuring Liberty athletes and alumni, visit: www.GameOnLU.com and www.Facebook.com/gameonlu
