Quick Hits

• Liberty enters the week with a 14-8 overall record. The Flames took two out of it three games at Charleston Southern in a Big South series, this past weekend. 
• Completing a four-game road swing on Tuesday, Liberty is 4-1 in road games, this season. This past Friday's 12-2 victory at Charleston Southern was the Flames' first road contest since defeating Elon, 1-0, in 10 innings on Feb. 28. 
• Liberty is unbeaten in midweek games, posting a 4-0 record. Last Tuesday, the Flames defeated James Madison, 5-1, at Liberty Baseball Stadium.
• East Carolina is 17-8 on the year.  The Pirates ranked as high as No. 16 in this week's national polls. East Carolina enters Tuesday's contest with a 12-5 mark at Clark-LeClair Stadium in 2017.
• The 2017 season is the first under head coach Scott Jackson.  Jackson, who was an assistant coach at Liberty in 2008, spent the past eight seasons as an assistant on head coach Mike Fox's staff at North Carolina. 
 

Liberty takes to the Road
After having an 11-game homestand end last Tuesday, the Flames returned to the road, this past weekend. Friday's 12-2 victory at Charleston Southern was its first road game since a 1-0, 10 inning victory at Elon on Feb. 28. The contest  started the first three-game road series in Big South Conference play for Liberty.

The Flames took the first two games of the their three-game set at Charleston Southern to move their road mark to 4-1 on the year. Four of the Flames' first five road games were played in Charleston, S.C.  Liberty defeated The Citadel, 9-1, in Charleston on Feb. 19.
