• Liberty enters the weekend with a 12-7 overall record and a 2-1 mark in Big South Conference play. In their last outing, the Flames defeated James Madison, 5-1, Tuesday at Liberty Baseball Stadium. • With their win on Tuesday, the Flames closed an 11-game homestand, the second longest in program history and the longest in the history of Liberty Baseball Stadium, with a 7-4 mark. Liberty is 8-4 at home in 2017. • This weekend, the Flames return to the road for the first time since defeating Elon, 1-0 in 10 innings on Feb. 28. Liberty has won both its road games, this season. • Charleston Southen has posted an 11-7 overall record and a 1-2 mark in Big South action. Liberty has won nine out of the last 10 contests between the two teams and holds a 50-22 advantage in the all-time series. • Liberty outfielder D.J. Artis was named the Big South Player of the Week for games played March 13-19 on Monday. • The 2017 season is Liberty's first under head coach Scott Jackson. Jackson, who was an assistant coach at Liberty in 2008, spent the past eight seasons as an assistant on head coach Mike Fox's staff at North Carolina.
