Recently, LFSN's GAME ON had a chance to catch up with former Liberty men's soccer standout Sachem Wilson.
The Stow, Ohio native signed a contract to play with ND Gorcia in June and became the first American to ever play in the Slovenia first division. After signing, Wilson became the first Liberty soccer player to see action in an Europa League game.
A member of the Flames from 2012-15, Wilson scored 26 goals and assisted on eight others for 60 career points during his Liberty career. He led the Flames in goals and points in each of his final three seasons.
Wilson was selected to the 2014 Big South All-Conference team and to the VaSID All-State team in 2013 and 2014. The striker was also named to the Big South All-Academic team in 2014 and 2015. In 2013, Wilson led the Flames with 23 points and 10 goals, the most since 2010. It is also the most by a Liberty player over the last six years (2011-16).
