Tori Zavodny was named Big South Softball Player of the Week on Monday.
After an impressive performance at the Liberty Softball Classic, Liberty junior outfielder Tori Zavodny has been named Big South Softball Player of the Week.
She is the second Lady Flame to be tabbed Big South Player of the Week this season, joining Amber Bishop, who was honored on Feb. 13. This is the fourth time in the first five weeks of the season that Liberty has earned a conference weekly honor.
A native of Concord, N.C., Zavodny batted 7-for-11 (.636) with six runs scored, three doubles, one homer, five RBI, a 1.182 slugging percentage and .667 on-base percentage in four games played.
During Thursday's 15-5 win over Rhode Island, she went 1-for-1 with a two-run double. On Friday against Saint Francis (Pa.), Zavodny batted 2-for-3 with a homer, one RBI and one run scored. Friday's game against Rhode Island saw Zavodny go 2-for-4 with two doubles, two RBI, one stolen base and one run scored. On Saturday, she went 2-for-3 with three runs scored in an 11-1 win over North Carolina Central.
Zavodny became the 13th player in program history with 100 career runs scored on Saturday. She currently ranks third in the Big South with a .415 batting average.
Zavodny and the Lady Flames will host North Carolina A&T for a single game, tomorrow at 4 p.m. at Kamphuis Field at Liberty Softball Stadium.
