Keyen Green is the Big South's first-ever eight-time Women's Basketball Freshman of the Week.

For the fourth consecutive week and the record-breaking eighth time this season, Liberty post player Keyen Green has been honored as the Come Ready Nutrition Big South Women's Basketball Freshman of the Week.

Green, who previously won the award on Dec. 5, Jan. 2, Jan. 9, Jan. 16, Feb. 6, Feb. 13 and Feb. 20, becomes the first eight-time Big South Freshman of the Week in conference history, eclipsing the previous record of seven.

The Philadelphia, Pa., native also joins the trio of Shannan Wilkey (Radford, 1990-91), Michelle Fricke (Liberty, 1999-2000) and Kristal Hood (UNC Asheville, 2002-03) as the only players ever to win four straight Big South Freshman of the Week honors.

Green scored a team-high 16.5 ppg last week, helping Liberty record two road victories and lock up a first-round bye for the Big South Women's Basketball Championship.

All seven of her points at Longwood on Tuesday came during the third quarter, helping the Lady Flames push a 15-point halftime lead up to 28 points at the end of the period.

Green then led all players in both points (career high-equaling 26) and rebounds (12) at Winthrop on Saturday. She scored nine points in the fourth quarter, helping to seal the Lady Flames' 78-63 triumph. The game marked her eighth double-double and fifth 20-point game of the season.

Green leads the Big South and ranks No. 5 nationally among freshmen in rebounding (8.0 rpg). She also tops the conference in double-doubles (8), offensive rebounds (3.7 rpg) and field goal percentage (58.9), while ranking fourth in blocked shots (1.1 bpg), seventh in defensive rebounds (4.3 rpg) and ninth in scoring (12.4 ppg).

Liberty (12-15, 11-5 Big South) will close out the regular season with two home games at the Vines Center, beginning tonight at 7 p.m. against UNC Asheville. The Lady Flames will then play host to Big South co-leader Campbell on Senior Day, Saturday at 2 p.m.
