Prior to the Liberty women's lacrosse team's season opener at Notre Dame next week, LFSN reporter Alan York had a chance to catch up with redshirt senior captain Melanie Via.
Via talked about how she was introduced to the sport of lacrosse, as well as her responsibilities as team captain. She also discussed the team's preseason training and practices, which included a trip to Seabrook Island, S.C. in January. The Lady Flames also practiced for the first time on a brand new turf on the Liberty Lacrosse Field, last Monday.
Liberty begins its season at No. 8 Notre Dame on Feb. 10 at 7 p.m. The Lady Flames play their second contest of the year at Butler on Feb. 12 at 11 a.m. and square off with Richmond in their home opener, Feb. 18.
