In the final Longstreth/NFHCA Division I Weekly Awards on Tuesday, Liberty freshman goalkeeper Allison Schaefer was chosen honorable mention for a second time this season.

The Millersville, Pa., recorded five saves in a shutout effort against No. 3 seed Providence last Friday in a BIG EAST Championship semifinal matchup.

In Sunday's championship match against No. 1 seed UConn, Schaefer made nine saves in a 3-2 loss. In the process, she set the Liberty field hockey program record for most saves in a single season with 124 total, breaking the previous record of 118, set by Ann Jefferis in 2011.

Schaefer ranks 11th in the nation in saves per game (6.89) and 14th in the nation in save percentage (.747).

Schaefer received the same recognition at the national level on Oct. 12.
