As the Liberty swimming & diving continues its fall training, LFSN reporter Alan York was able to catch up with junior Rachel Hoeve.
Hoeve, a native of Zeeland, Mich., has been a driving force for the Lady Flames in the sprint freestyle so far this season. She is ranked third in the CCSA with a season-best 50 free time of 23.40, and her 51.93 is fourth-fastest in the conference for 100 free. Hoeve has posted four individual event victories so far, winning the 50 free all three times she has contested it. The Michigan native is ranked sixth in program history in the 50 free and eighth in the 100 free.
The Lady Flames hold a 5-1 record, including 1-0 against CCSA opponents. Liberty will next compete at the Frank Elm Invite, hosted by Rutgers from Nov. 18-20.
