Liberty forward Rigoberto Rojas has been named the Big South Men's Soccer Freshman of the Week for games played Oct. 17-21.
Rojas scored the game-winning goal during the 80th minute and had an assist in Liberty's 3-2 win at Gardner-Webb, Friday. The Hillsdale, Ill., native has recorded a goal or an assist in each of his last five games and has had an assist in each of his last four games.
With an assist on Friday, Rojas is second in the Big South Conference and leads the Flames with six assists. His assist total is the most by a Liberty player since Phillip Aseweh had eight assists in 2011. The forward enters the week with two goals and six assists for 10 points, this season.
Rojas and Liberty (6-7-1, 3-2 in the Big South) will host the High Point Panthers in a Big South Conference match, Wednesday. Kickoff at Osborne Stadium is scheduled for 4 p.m
