The Liberty women's tennis team starts play at the 2016 ITA Atlantic Regional Women's Tennis Championships on Friday.
The five-day tournament is hosted by Old Dominion will be held at the Folkes-Stevens Tennis Center in Norfolk, Va. The event serves as a qualifier for the ITA National Indoor Intercollegiate Championships in Flushing, N.Y., at the Billie Jean King Tennis Center.
Liberty Players Competing Four Liberty players will represent the team at the tournament: junior Evangeline Crist and sophomores Anna Dollar, Rebekah Anderson and Aleksandra Panchenko. Crist and Dollar garnered the No. 9 seed in the doubles draw.
Tournament Schedule Friday: First and second round of qualifiers, backdraw for first round of qualifiers and round of 64 doubles Saturday: Round of 64 singles, round of 32 doubles and round of 16 doubles Sunday: Round of 32 singles, round of 16 singles, quarterfinals for doubles and opportunity for extra matches Monday: Quarterfinals of singles, semifinals of doubles and finals of doubles Tuesday: Semifinals of singles and finals of singles

Last Time Out During the weekend of Sept. 30 - Oct. 2, Liberty competed at the Wake Forest Invitational. Senior Mariely Hassey took third place in the B singles bracket, while freshman Eugenia Camacho won her first college matches at both singles and doubles during the event.
Additionally, Junior Evangeline Crist and Anna Dollar represented the Lady Flames at the 2016 Riviera/ITA Women's All-American Championships at Pepperdine, marking the first time in program history that Liberty has competed at the event. Crist and Dollar earned two doubles wins in the pre-qualifying draw in Malibu, Calif.
Looking Ahead Following the ITA Regional, the Lady Flames are back in action at the Virginia Tech Invite from Oct. 28-30 in Blacksburg, Va.
