Jenna Joyal was named CCSA Women's Diver of the Week, Tuesday.
Liberty freshman Jenna Joyal has been named CCSA Women's Diver of the Week, after completing her first collegiate competition last weekend in Grand Junction, Colo.
Joyal is the third Lady Flame in program history to earn CCSA Diver of the Week honors. Brooke Fox and Courtney Fox both received the award last year. Her award is the 19th weekly CCSA honor for the Liberty swimming & diving team in program history, including four Diver of the Week mentions and 15 Swimmer of the Week awards.
A native of New Fairfield, Conn., Joyal competed in both the one-meter and three-meter diving events at the Intermountain Shootout last weekend in Grand Junction, Colo. She placed 13th in one-meter diving with a score of 158.15, while scoring 143.25 points for 14th in three-meter diving. Those scored both stand fourth on Liberty's all-time top performers list for diving.
Joyal helped the Lady Flames go 4-0 on the weekend, as Liberty defeated Air Force, BYU, Utah and Colorado Mesa.
The Lady Flames (5-0) return to action this Saturday, competing at 2016 CAA runner-up James Madison. Saturday's meet is scheduled to begin at 11 a.m. at Savage Natatorium.
