Lady Flames Begin Big South Slate at High Point

The Liberty women's soccer team returns to action on Saturday, opening the Big South portion of the schedule against High Point. Game time at Vert Stadium is slated for 7 p.m.

Liberty leads the all-time series against the Panthers, 16-10-3. The Lady Flames are 5-0-1 in the last three seasons versus High Point. The lone draw marked a significant moment for the Panthers, as they captured the 2014 Big South Championship by edging Liberty in a penalty kick shootout, 5-4 (Nov. 9, 2014), for their fifth conference crown.

The following year, the Lady Flames defeated High Point in the semifinals, 2-1 (Nov. 8), before capturing the 2015 Big South Championship with a 1-0 win over Campbell. With its fifth Big South title, Liberty tied the conference record also held by High Point and Radford.

The Lady Flames enter the conference slate with a combined 24-5-1 Big South record in the last three seasons. Liberty has posted eight conference wins three straight seasons.
