The 2015-16 Liberty women's basketball team posted a 3.468 GPA, ranking No. 22 nationally.

For the sixth time in program history and the first since 2007-08, the Liberty women's basketball team has earned a spot on the Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) NCAA Division I Academic Top 25 Team Honor Roll. Thanks to a 3.468 team grade-point average, the Lady Flames ranked No. 22 nationally in 2015-16.

Five of Liberty's WBCA Academic Top 25 appearances have come under the direction of head coach Carey Green. Liberty was listed No. 12 in 1998-99, No. 13 in 1999-2000 (Green's first season), tied for No. 14 in 2005-06, No. 7 in 2006-07 and No. 14 in 2007-08.

The Lady Flames were the only Big South team to make the list, as well as the only squad from the Commonwealth of Virginia. Liberty, which went 20-13 and played in the 2016 Postseason WNIT, was one of 14 teams to win 20+ games in 2015-16 and make the Academic Top 25 Team Honor Roll.

Twelve Lady Flames maintained a GPA of 3.0 or higher in 2015-16, including Katelyn Adams, Brooke Alexander, KK Barbour, Tatyana Crowder, Mikal Johnson, Catherine Kearney, Stephanie Patton, Molly Reagan, Audrey Rettstatt, Ashley Rininger, Sheana Vega and Jordan Woods. Crowder, Patton, Reagan and Rininger all posted 4.0 GPAs for the year.
