For the second time this summer, Liberty's Mickey DeMorat and Isaiah Logue have been named to all-state teams, earning recognition on the 2016 Virginia State Golf Coaches Association All-State Teams (VSGCA).
Logue was one of five players in the Commonwealth of Virginia named to the first-team listing. DeMorat earned one of five spots on the second-team all-state list.
Earlier this summer, both DeMorat and Logue were named to the 2016 VaSID All-State University Division Men's Golf Team, each receiving second-team honors.
This is the second VSGCA All-State honor for Logue, who was a second-team honoree in 2015. Logue is the sixth player in program history to be named to a VSGCA All-State first team and gives the Flames a first-team honoree for the sixth year in a row.
The VSGCA All-State first team consists of Adam Ball (Virginia Commonwealth), Derek Bard (Virginia), Ryan Cole (James Madison), Logue (Liberty), and Jimmy Stanger (Virginia).
Logue led the Flames during the 2015-16 season, finishing his second year with the program with a 72.62 season stroke average.
The Fairfield, Pa., native ranked fourth in the Big South in stroke average and was named to the All-Big South team for the second year in a row.
Logue tied for team-high honors with five top-10 finishes in 2015-16 and led the team with three top-five finishes, including a second-place showing at the 2016 Big South Men's Golf Championship.
Logue's other postseason honors include being named to the All-Big South squad, as well as earning a spot on the PING All-Region East Team.
The VSGCA All-State second team consists of DeMorat (Liberty), Joey Lane (Virginia Tech), Matthew Lowe (Richmond), Danny Walker (Virginia), and Thomas Walsh (Virginia).
DeMorat ranked second on Liberty's roster with a 72.92 season stroke average and joined Logue on the All-Big South team.
The Merritt Island, Fla., native finished the season tied with Logue with five top-10 finishes and led the Flames during the spring in stroke average (72.48).
DeMorat and Logue helped Liberty capture the team title at the 2016 Big South Men's Golf Championship, the program's fourth conference title in six years.
Liberty advanced to the NCAA Albuquerque Regional in Albuquerque, N.M., the program's fifth regional appearance in the last six seasons and seventh in program history.
