The Big South Conference kicked off its 15th season of Big South football Tuesday when the league hosted its annual Big South Football Media Day event in Charlotte, N.C.
During the media interview sessions, LFSN reporter Alan York had a chance to talk with Flames Head Football Coach Turner Gill leading into his fifth year at the helm of the program.
Liberty was predicted to finish in second place in the Big South Preseason Football poll. The Flames finished with 86 points and one first-place vote in the preseason ranking, as they were listed behind defending Big South champion Charleston Southern. The Buccaneers pulled in 106 total votes and 16 out of 18 first-place votes.
Liberty had four players named to the Big South Preseason Football All-Conference team: Zac Parker (WR), JaRon Greene (DL), Chris Turner (DB) and Trey Turner (P).
Leading up to the opening of Liberty's August training camp on Aug. 8, LibertyFlames.com will also run interviews with quarterback Stephon Masha, linebacker Dexter Robbins and Big South commissioner Kyle B. Kallander.
