Avery Warley-Talbert, a 2012 Liberty graduate, recently signed with the WNBA's Atlanta Dream and made her 2016 season debut on Sunday against the Connecticut Sun.
Warley-Talbert played four scoreless minutes for the Dream, who improved to an Eastern Conference-leading 7-3 with a 93-87 victory over the Sun.
Atlanta is the fourth team Warley-Talbert has suited up for during her five WNBA seasons. The all-time leading rebounder in Liberty and Big South Conference history (1,282 rebounds) previously played for Phoenix (2012), Chicago (2013) and New York (2013-15).
Now 29 years of age, Warley-Talbert is the second Liberty alum to play for Atlanta. Katie (Feenstra) Mattera was a member of the inaugural Atlanta Dream squad in 2008.
The WNBA, which is celebrating its 20th anniversary this season, has now seen at least one former Lady Flame play in the league during 11 different seasons (2005-10, 2012-16).
The Dream will be back in action Friday at 7:30 p.m., playing host to the Chicago Sky. The next day, Warley-Talbert will get to play in her hometown of Washington, D.C., as the Washington Mystics host the Dream at 7 p.m.
Warley-Talbert will see her former New York Liberty teammates at noon on June 22, when the Liberty travel to Atlanta's Philips Arena for a matinee.
