With the season finished and the summer rolling around the corner, Nick Pierce had the chance to catch up with Liberty Women's Lacrosse Head Coach Kelly Nangle.
Nangle talked about the overall season in which the Lady Flames finished 5-13, falling in the quarterfinals of the Big South Championship to No. 4 seed Coastal Carolina by the final score of 9-8 in double overtime on April 30.
The season was highlighted by several individual accomplishments, including Kayla Foster becoming the first Lady Flame to garner Big South Freshman of the Year. Foster finished the season with 22 goals and a team-high 29 assists. Foster's 29 assists rank second-most in a single season in program history.
Kallie Britton paced the offense with a team-high 36 goals, bringing her career total to 106 which ranks fourth in program history.
Seven Lady Flames received recognition on the Big South Conference first and second team, in addition to one member on the Big South All-Academic squad.
