Liberty senior swimmer Natalie Beale has been named to the 2016 CoSIDA Academic All-District III Women's At-Large Team, presented by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA). Beale, a native of Baltimore, Md., is the third Liberty female student-athlete to earn academic all-district at-large honors, and the first since field hockey player Helen Doolittle in 2015.

As a result of her inclusion on the academic all-district team, Beale will now appear on the ballot for the 2016 CoSIDA Academic All-America Team®.  The first-, second- and third-team All-America honorees will be announced on June 9.

Earlier this month, Beale was named one of the recipients of the prestigious George A. Christenberry Award for Academic Excellence from the Big South Conference. She carries a 4.0 GPA as an exercise science: pre-professional major. Additional, she will receive CSCAA Scholar All-America honorable mention this year. Beale is a two-time CCSA All-Academic team member.

She had a breakout meet at the 2016 CCSA Championships, setting a program record while placing second in the 200 freestyle with an NCAA B cut time of 1:47.97. Beale additionally earned fourth-place finishes in the 100 butterfly and 200 backstroke at the 2016 conference meet. She also ranks third in program history in both the 200 backstroke (1:59.43) and 100 butterfly (54.73). A transfer from Army West Point, she still holds Army's program records in the 100 and 200 backstroke.
