As preparations for the 2016 Big South Softball Championship continue, Alan York from LFSN had a chance to interview Liberty Softball Head Coach Dot Richardson.
The Lady Flames enter the Big South Softball Championship as the No. 3 seed after winning a program-record 16 conference games this season. Liberty (30-26) has also secured its first 30-win season since 2011, when the Lady Flames last won the Big South tournament title. The Lady Flames lead the Big South with 11 shutouts this year, including a pair of no-hitters from freshman Julia DiMartino.
Liberty opens play at the 2016 Big South Softball Championship tomorrow at Terry Field in Rock Hill, S.C. Tomorrow's game between the third-seeded Lady Flames and sixth-seeded Presbyterian Blue Hose is scheduled to begin at 7:30 p.m.
