Nightcap Between Liberty and Radford Halted Due to Lighting Issues at Radford

The second game of tonight's doubleheader between Liberty and Radford has been halted in the top of the fourth inning due to unsafe lighting conditions at Radford Softball Stadium.

The game was halted with Radford leading, 3-1, in the top of the fourth stanza. The game will resume tomorrow at noon at the point of interruption, with one out and nobody on and Rylee Reynolds batting. Game three of the series will start following the conclusion of the halted game.

Alexia Taylor led off the game with a double to left, but she was left on base as Lauren McIntyre retired the next three hitters.

Radford went ahead with three unearned runs in the bottom of the first. Marissa Gagliano reached on an error and Hannah Medlam walked. Kayla Bishton made it 1-0 with an RBI single. An error later allowed two more runs to score, before a comebacker ended the inning.

The Lady Flames entered the scoring column with a one-out rally during the second stanza. Jaclyn Amader hit a double to left center, before Kassidy McCoy lined an RBI triple to the right-field corner. McIntyre limited the damage, as Madi Clarke grounded out and Cassie Gingerich struck out.

Chandler Ball walked the bases loaded with one out in the home half of the third. Chase Cassady came on in relief, striking out Whitney Davis and Jessica Curbiera to strand three Highlanders.
