The Liberty Lady Flames lacrosse team (4-12, 3-4 Big South) looks for its third straight victory on Saturday to conclude the 2016 regular season. The Lady Flames will square off against Presbyterian (3-13, 1-6 Big South) at 1 p.m. The contest will serve as Senior Day for nine Lady Flames.

Last Time Out The Lady Flames earned a dominating 20-4 road victory over conference foe Radford yesterday in Radford, Va. Yesterday's contest was the first-ever meeting between the two programs.
Three different Lady Flames recorded a hat trick in the victory over the Highlanders. Kallie Britton led the Liberty scoring with five goals, while Kayla Foster led the team in points with eight on two goals and six assists. Foster's six assists marked the second-most assists recorded in a single contest in program history.
The Lady Flames controlled the pace early and did not let up, outshooting the Highlanders, 40-10. Liberty also won both the battles for ground balls (47-30) and draw controls (15-9). Liberty's 47 ground balls set a new program record for most ground balls in a single contest.
Same Name, Double the Trouble Senior captains Kallie Britton and Callie Francis continue to get things done on both ends of the field for the Lady Flames. Britton ranks first on the squad in goals scored with 29 and second in points with 36. Francis has recorded the second most goals on the squad with 23 as well as the second most assists with 10. Francis also ranks third on the team in points with 33. The senior captains have combined for 53 ground balls, 37 draw controls and 29 caused turnovers, this season.
Freshman Poise Kayla Foster continues to pace the Liberty offense in her first season of collegiate action. Foster leads the team in both points (44) and assists (25). Foster's 25 assists ranks second most in a single season in program history. The Pennsylvania native has also added 19 goals to her points total this season.
Sister Act Sisters Abby and Kallie Britton have accounted for 41 goals and eight assists thus far. Kallie leads the team in goals with 29, while Abby ranks fifth on the team with 12. The Pridemore sisters, Katy and Hannah, have also aided the Lady Flames' offense this season. Katy and Hannah have accounted for 20 goals, 34 points, 14 assists, 21 ground balls and 30 draw controls.
Defensive Efforts The core of Colleen Ekert, Meghan Hammond, Lindsey McNamara, Victoria Tickle and Melanie Via have anchored the Liberty defense this season. The quintet has combined for 119 of Liberty's 313 ground balls this season, to complement 78 of the Lady Flames' 166 caused turnovers. Ekert leads the squad in ground balls with 39, while Tickle ranks second with 32. Hammond ranks third among the quintet in ground balls with 18. Ekert also leads the defense in caused turnovers with 29. Tickle adds 17 caused turnovers, while McNamara and Via contribute 14 and 13, respectively.
A Look at Presbyterian The Blue Hose enter the regular season finale with a 3-13 overall record. Most recently, Presbyterian dropped a tough 12-11 overtime loss against Gardner-Webb yesterday in Clinton, S.C.
Lauren Schaaf leads the Presbyterian offense with 31 goals and 35 points. Cady Roberts and Katy Richardson lead the squad in assists with eight, while Roberts ranks second in both goals (23) and points (31).
What's Next? Following Saturday's contest, the Lady Flames will return to action on April 30 in the 2016 Big South Lacrosse Championship quarterfinals. The opponent, time and location will be determined following the conclusion of the regular season.
