Quick Hits 1. Liberty enters the weekend, having won three out of its last four contests. Last weekend, the Flames took two out of three games at Liberty Baseball Stadium from Charleston Southern in a three-game Big South Conference series.

Player Notes • All nine members of Liberty's lineup had at least one hit, as the Flames defeated the Charleston Southern Buccaneers, 9-6, in the finale of a three-game Big South series at Liberty Baseball Stadium, this past Sunday. LF D.J. Artis, RF Will Shepherd, LF Andrew Yacyk, SS Dalton Britt and 1B Sammy Taormina had two hits each for Liberty, which collected 14 hits total in the contest. • Taormina also walked and scored twice in the contest for the Flames, Sunday. • Artis and designated hitter Nick Walker had three hits each and combined to drive in five runs, powering the Flames to a 10-2 victory over the Charleston Southern Buccaneers, last Friday. • Artis posted his third three-hit game of the season and set a career-high with three RBI. He also doubled, scored a run and had a stolen base. • Walker collected his second three-hit game of the season, while adding two RBI and a scored a run. • Artis scored three times, including the walk-off run, April 5 against Maryland. He reached base on two hits and a walk, had a RBI and swiped a base in the contest. • Currently, Artis is among the national leaders in on base percentage (7th - .545), batting average (30th - .407) and walks (6th - 35). • The freshman OF leads the Flames and the Big South Conference in on base percentage. He is second in the conference and leads Liberty in batting average, walks and hits (45). He is third in stolen bases (13) and fourth in runs scored (32). • 1B/OF Yacyk's third hit of the night, a double, gave the Liberty Flames a 5-4 walk-off win over the Maryland Terrapins, April 5. • In two games against Maryland this season, the Hagerstown, Md. native went 8-for-11 with six RBI. • Yacyk leads the Flames in home runs, RBI and total bases. He is tied for fourth in the Big South with six home runs, fifth with 33 RBI and sixth with 75 total bases. • SS Britt had two hits, a triple and scored a run, April 5 in 5-4 win over Maryland. • Britt started his 200th consecutive game in the first game of Liberty's doubleheader against Kent State on March 19. Britt has now started 214 straight games. The senior has started every Liberty contest since joining the Flames in 2012. He is on pace to break Trey Wimmer's (2009-14) career record of 235 games played. • RHP Shane Quarterley leads the Flames in appearances with 16. Currently, Quarterley is third in the Big South in appearances, tied for second in saves (5) and tied for third in wins (5). • LHP Victor Cole went seven innings, allowing two runs, to record the victory in 10-2 win over Charleston Southern, this past Friday night. • Cole is tied for fourth in the Big South in strikeouts (47) and in opponent batting average (.206). • RHP Carson Herndon allowed one run on two hits over the first five innings in his second start of the year, April 5 against Maryland. • OF Will Shepherd enters the weekend second on the team and eighth in the Big South in runs scored with 27. He is also among the conference leaders in doubles (11) and total bases.
