Introducing Field Hockey Newcomer, Sydney Baffone

Sydney Baffone joins the Lady Flames after competing at Wilmington Christian School for the previous four years. Baffone is a two-time first team all-conference winner for the Diamond State Athletic Conference. Baffone has also been named to both the first and second team all-state for Delaware.

Baffone has started for the varsity team at Wilmington Christian for the last three seasons. The Delaware native is also a four time Delaware Interscholastic Athletic Association Scholar Athlete.

Baffone excels in the classroom as well as in the community, volunteering on many different occasions. Baffone works in the special needs program at her local church, assisting in working with a different individual each week and conducting various Bible-based activities with each of them. Baffone also volunteered at Elite Physical Therapy in the summer of 2015 where she observed physical therapists while they worked with their patients.

Why did you choose Liberty?
"My faith in God is the key aspect of my life and Liberty will give me the unique opportunity to be surrounded by others who share in this faith and will challenge me daily."

What was your favorite thing about Liberty's campus?
"My favorite thing about Liberty's campus was the Student Union and all of the athletic facilities."

What is your goal coming in to Liberty?
"My goal coming to Liberty is to grow academically, athletically and spiritually as God molds me into the person He desires me to be."

"I am so excited to have Sydney join the Liberty Field Hockey family. I think she is going to grow tremendously in the next four years. She has a great personality and a fun-loving spirit. She is a gifted athlete with a strong work ethic and desire to pursue excellence in each facet of her life."
