With Liberty's regular season coming to a close this weekend, LFSN reporter Alan York recently had a chance to catch up with Flames Head Golf Coach Jeff Thomas.

During the interview, York and Thomas discussed the Flames progress during the spring portion of Liberty's golf schedule and began looking ahead to the upcoming Big South Men's Golf Championship.

The Flames will play their final regular-season event of the 2015-16 campaign this weekend when they participate in the 2016 Robert Kepler Intercollegiate. Ohio State will host the 16-team tournament on its home course in Columbus, Ohio, The Ohio State University Golf Club – Scarlet Course (par 71, 7,455 yards).

Liberty is currently led by three sophomores, Isaiah Logue (72.21), Mickey DeMorat (72.66) and Payton Taylor (74.10) (season stroke average). As a team, the Flames have posted four top five finishes this season with the latest coming with a third-place showing at the Southern Intercollegiate Championships in Athens, Ga., on March 14.

Following this weekend's 2016 Robert Kepler Intercollegiate, Liberty will turn its attention to the 2016 Big South Men's Golf Championship. For the ninth year in a row, the conference championship will be contested at The Patriot Golf Club in Ninety Six. S.C., April 17-19.
