Quick Hits
1. Liberty left-hander Victor Cole was named the Big South Pitcher of the Week for games played March 14-20.  Cole pitched a complete game, striking out 11 in a 4-2 Liberty win over Kent State, Saturday.

2.  Flames shortstop Dalton Britt started his 200th consecutive game, Saturday in game one of a
doubleheader against Kent State. The senior captian is on pace to break the record for most career games played at Liberty.

3. Liberty enters the week with an 13-9 mark, after dropping three out of four games against Kent State, this past weekend at Liberty Baseball Stadium.

4. All five of Liberty's midweek contests in the month of March are road contests.  Liberty defeated
Virginia Tech, 22-7, in their last road game, last Tuesday.  Liberty posted season-highs for runs and hits (24) in the contest. The Flames are 2-4 in road contests, this season.

5. Liberty is scheduled to play 14 out of their 19 contests in the month of March at Liberty Baseball
Stadium. All 14 home games are weekend series.  The Flames are 8-6 so far in the month.

6. This weekend, Liberty will open Big South Conference play. The Flames will host the UNC Asheville Bulldogs for a three-game series, Thursday- Saturday. Liberty was picked to finished third in the
conference's preseason poll.

Cole Named Big South Pitcher of the Week
• Senior left-hander Victor Cole was named the Big South Pitcher of the Week for games played March 14-20.

• Cole went the distance for the first time this season in a 4-2 win over Kent State in game one of a doubleheader, Saturday. The Memphis, Tenn., native was in control for most of the contest, allowing two runs on four hits, pitching a complete game for the second time in his career.

• Cole, who evened his record at 1-1, struck out a career-high 11 batters and walked two in the contest. • He retired the last 13 of 14 and the last seven Golden Flashes to face him to finished the game.

• It is the first time this season and the third time in Cole's Liberty career that he has been named the Big South Pitcher of the Week.

Britt Starts 200 Straight
• Flames shortstop Dalton Britt started his 200th straight contest, Saturday.

• The Greenville, N.C., native made the milestone start in the first game of Saturday's doubleheader against Kent State.

• Britt has started every game since joining the Flames in 2013, playing mostly at shortstop. In 2014, he played several games at third base early in the season, before moving back to shortstop.

• He is on pace to break Trey Wimmer's record of 235 games played from 2009-14.

• He enters the week with a .267 batting average, seven runs scored and 20 RBI. For his career, Britt has hit .272 with 107 RBI and 90 runs scored.

Player Notes
• SS Dalton Britt tied his career-high with four RBI in the Flames' 5-1 win over Central Connecticut State, March 11. He had four RBI in a contest for the first time in 2016 and the third time in his career. Britt had two hits, including a three-run double in the seventh.
• OF D.J. Artis and Britt had three hits apiece at Virginia Tech, last Tuesday.  Artis posted his ninth multiple-hit game this season in the contest. The Flames' leadoff man doubled, scored three times and drove in two runs. Britt hit his first home run of the year, had two doubles and drove in four runs, tying a career-high.
• Artis leads the Flames with a .407 batting average, 33 hits, 21 walks, 21 runs scored and .533 on base percentage.
• Artis has had two or more hits in five of his last seven games.
• RHP Evan Mitchell pitched his second complete game in as many outings, Friday against Kent State. Mitchell struck out a career-high eight in the contest.
• In his second start of the season, Mitchell allowed just one unearned run, while limiting CCSU to five hits over the full nine innings to not only record his first victory in a Flames uniform, but his first complete game. He struck out a six batters and walked one in the contest.
• Mitchell leads the Flames with a 0.97 ERA.
• DH Nick Walker went 3-for-3 with a walk in game two of Liberty's doubleheader with Kent State,
Saturday.
• Walker reached base three times, two hits and walk, at Virginia Tech, last Tuesday. He scored all three times.
• OF Will Shepherd and OF Andrew Yacyk each had four hits in Liberty's win at Virginia Tech, tying career-highs, last Tuesday.
• Shepherd also had a career-high five RBI and two of his four hits were doubles in the game.
• Yacyk hit his fourth home run and doubled, driving in four runs in the contest.
• Yacyk belted his fifth home run of the season against Kent State, Sunday. The OF/1B now leads the Flames with 21 RBI.
• Shepherd had two hits and three RBI in a 7-5 victory over Central Connecticut State (CCSU), March 13.
• C Payton Scarbrough collected two hits and hit his second home run of the season, last Tuesday at Virginia Tech. He doubled and had three RBI.
• Scarbrough had two hits and scored twice in the contest in Liberty's 7-5 victory over CCSU, March 13.
• RHP Shane Quarterley leads the Flames in appearances with 10.  This past Tuesday at Virginia Tech, he pitched five innings of scoreless of relief in the Liberty win.
• Quarterley recorded the victory with three scoreless innings of relief in a 5-3 win over Evansville, March 12. The RHP then earned the save by not allowing a run over the final two innings, his third, in a 5-2 victory over Evansville on Sunday.
