As the Lady Flames prepare to open their Big South Conference schedule at home against Winthrop this weekend, Alan York of LFSN interviewed sophomore outfielder Tori Zavodny.
Zavodny had an excellent showing during the Liberty Softball Classic, batting .500 with two triples, seven runs scored and seven stolen bases in five games played. She currently leads the team with five triples and 14 stolen bases, while her five triples are tied for first in the nation. The sophomore has already totaled eight career triples, a number which ranks fifth in program history. She is also ranked eighth all-time at Liberty with 38 career stolen bases.
Liberty (11-13) opens conference play this weekend against Winthrop (10-16) at Kamphuis Field at Liberty Softball Stadium. The Lady Flames and Eagles will contest a single game on Friday at 5 p.m., before wrapping up the series with a doubleheader, beginning at 2 p.m. on Saturday.
