Taylor Named Co-MVP at Louisiana Tech Classic

Liberty sophomore catcher Alexia Taylor was named co-MVP at the Louisiana Tech Classic, highlighting the Lady Flames' three members on the all-tournament team.

The Lady Flames tied Louisiana Tech for the best record at this weekend's tournament, as both Liberty and the Lady Techsters went 3-1. Liberty won the head-to-head matchup against Louisiana Tech, 5-1, on Friday.

Taylor was joined on the all-tournament team by freshmen outfielder Jaclyn Amader and freshmen infielder Rylee Reynolds.

Taylor batted .400 on the weekend, leading the Lady Flames with three doubles and five RBI. She had a double and three RBI against Grambling, before going 2-for-4 against both Louisiana Tech and Lamar.

Amader hit .412 with two doubles, two stolen bases and three RBI, extending her hitting streak to five games. She batted 2-for-5 against Grambling, and went 3-for-4 with two doubles versus Louisiana Tech.

Reynolds posted a .500 batting average, with three multiple-hit games, two doubles and two RBI. She hit 3-for-4 with a double and two RBI against Grambling. Then, she added two hits in wins over Louisiana Tech and Lamar.

The Lady Flames (6-9) remain in Louisiana, and will compete in the LSU Invitational, Friday and Saturday in Baton Rouge. Liberty opens the weekend with a 1 p.m. ET game against Louisiana Tech, Friday afternoon. The Lady Flames will also take on Tennessee Tech, Memphis and LSU.
