Yesterday, Liberty outfielder Will Shepherd talked with LFSN's Nick Pierce to discuss the Flames' preparations for the upcoming 2016 season and this weekend's season-opening series at South Florida.
Shepherd has started in the Flames outfield since arriving at Liberty in 2014. In 100 games, the Wilkesboro, N.C. native has hit .255 with 41 RBI and 66 runs scored. The junior has also stolen 21 bases and led the Flames last season with 16.
Liberty opens the 2016 season with a three-game series at South Florida, this weekend. Friday's first pitch is scheduled for 6:30 p.m.
The Flames are scheduled to begin their 29-game home schedule at Liberty Baseball Stadium with a three-game series against UConn on March 4-6.
