Field Hockey Adds Duo to 2016 Roster

Liberty Field Hockey Head Coach Jodi Murphy has added two new members to the upcoming roster, Agueda (Agui) Moroni and Zosia Roberts. Roberts transferred to Liberty this past fall from Palm Beach Atlantic University and Moroni transferred from Belgrano University, Argentina this spring. Both now join the squad following the 2015 season.

Moroni hails from Cordoba Capital, Argentina, and is the daughter of Liliana Agueda Melgarejo and Ricardo Moroni Funes. Moroni attended San Pedro Apostol for two years before attending Rosarito Vera Penaloza for her final two years of high school. The Argentinian native also attended ISP for one year. Prior to her arrival at Liberty, Moroni was attending the Universidad de Belgrano for over one year. Moroni is a three-time sub champion with Cordoba, a one-time sub champion with the fifth division and a one-time champion with the first division.

Roberts joins the Liberty midfield, hails from Landenberg, Pa., and is the daughter of Drs. PJ and Joy Roberts. The Pennsylvania native was a four-year letterwinner at Wilmington Christian School before attending Palm Beach Atlantic University in 2014. Roberts was named the 2010 Wilmington Christian Rookie of the Year. Roberts was a two-time conference champion at Wilmington Christian and was twice named to the DIAA All-Conference first team. The two-time captain was also named to the Delaware All-State first team during her senior campaign, along with winning the Impact Player Award.

Head Coach Jodi Murphy on Moroni:
"We are thrilled to have Agui join our program this spring. She has been such a great addition. Her passion and love for the game are contagious. She brings a lot of creativity, flare and freedom to the game; it is really exciting to watch. I am eager to see how she develops the rest of this spring as we prepare for next fall."

Head Coach Jodi Murphy on Roberts:
"The addition of Zosia to our roster this spring is a blessing. She has a heart for the Lord and desires to use her talents and abilities to give Him glory. She is an incredibly hard worker and determined athlete. I have been very pleased with her transition thus far and look forward to seeing the many ways she will impact our program going forward."
