Burgess Named to 2015 CSN Fabulous Fifty FCS All-America Team

Liberty senior offensive lineman Jonathan Burgess is one of 50 players who have been named to the 2015 College Sporting News Fabulous Fifty FCS All-America Team.

The honor is one of many for Burgess following his final season with the Flames. He was also selected to the All-Big South first team, the Roanoke Times All-State College Football team, as well as the STATS FCS and Associated Press FCS All-America second teams.

Unlike other All-America teams, the CSN Fabulous Fifty FCS All-America squad is designed to be like a real team, capable of taking the field and competing in a game.

Burgess is one of four players named to the 2015 CSN Fabulous Fifty FCS All-America Team from the Big South Conference. He was joined on the team by Charleston Southern offensive lineman Erick Austell and long snapper Joseph Smith and Gardner-Webb defensive lineman O.J Mau.

Liberty has placed at least one player on the CSN Fabulous Fifty FCS All-America Team each year since the 2007 season.

Burgess finished his career at Liberty as a three-time Big South all-conference selection (second team, 2013; first team, 2014 and 2015).

The native of Stafford, Va., was named to the 2015 STATS FCS Preseason All-America first team and the former walk-on finished his career with 34 career starts.

Burgess paced the Flames in knockdowns in 2015 and helped Liberty lead the Big South in passing yards (259.9 yards per game).
