Burgess, Lunsford and Uzowihe Earn STATS FCS All-America Honors

Burgess (OL), Lunsford (K) and Uzowihe (DL) were three of the nine Big South players named to the 2015 STATS FCS All-America first, second and third teams. In total, 102 players were named to the All-America teams, spread among 57 schools and 13 FCS conferences.

Burgess finished his career at Liberty as a three-time Big South all-conference selection (second team, 2013; first team, 2014 and 2015).

The native of Stafford, Va., was named to the STATS FCS Preseason All-America first team and the former walk-on finished his career with 34 career starts.

Burgess paced the Flames in knockdowns in 2015 and helped Liberty lead the Big South in passing yards (259.9 yards per game).

The All-America honor is the third of Lunsford's career after being named a Sports Network and Fabulous Fifty FCS All-America first-team honoree in 2014.

Lunsford finished his career as the NCAA FCS career record holder with 12 50-plus yard field goals. He is Liberty's all-time leader in career extra points made (150) and ranks second in field goals (48) and career scoring (294 points).

The native of Fort Myers, Fla., completed his senior season ranked No. 12 in the country among FCS kickers in field goal attempts (79) and No. 23 in field goals (48).

Uzowihe spent the entire 2015 season on the STATS FCS Defensive Player of the Year watch list, finishing 22nd in the final voting for the nation's top defensive player award.

The senior finished the 2015 season with 52 tackles (34 solo, 18 assisted), including 17.0 tackles for a loss (86 yards) and 8.0 sacks (62 yards). He also added a team-best six quarterback hurries, along with four pass breakups and a forced fumble.

The senior led the Big South and ranked No. 17 in the country in tackles for a loss (1.5 per game). He also led the conference and ranked No. 18 in the nation in sacks per game (0.73).

The native of Houston, Texas, finished his career with a program and Big South-best 25.0 sacks. His 44.0 career tackles for a loss ranks second in program history and third in the Big South record book. During his four-year career, he recorded 150 tackles (84 solo, 66 assisted), 10 pass breakups, five forced fumbles and two fumble recoveries.
