Pratt is a freshman forward from West Chester, Pa. Pratt competed in six contests and finished the season with two points. Pratt recorded her first collegiate goal on Sept. 8 in a 7-1 victory over Richmond.
Who introduced you to field hockey? Pratt: When I was younger, a bunch of my friends wanted to start playing a new sport and so we decided on field hockey. We joined a league in our area when we were in third grade and ever since then I have loved the sport.
Tell me about your family. What do your parents, or guardians, do? How many brothers or sisters do you have and what do they do? Pratt: My dad is a high school history teacher and has been teaching for more than 20 years. My mom works as a risk manager at a local hospital and before her current job she worked as a bedside nurse for 15 years. I have one younger sister Emily, who is 14. She is a freshman in high school and loves to ride horses.
If you weren't playing field hockey which sport would you enjoy playing? Pratt: If I wasn't playing field hockey then I would most likely being doing track & field. Ever since freshman year of high school I was on the track team and participated in both indoor and outdoor track.
Tell us your recruiting story on how you got to Liberty. Pratt: It was my sophomore year and I started to participate in tournaments such as the Festival and Disney Showcases. Coach Murphy had emailed me saying she was interested and that I should consider Liberty's field hockey program. I started to look into the program and I then visited the school during CFAW and I loved it! I then met the team and participated in clinics and camps and then in the summer before my senior year, Coach Murphy had offered me a spot on the team! I thought over my decision and realized God had a plan for me and Liberty is where He wanted me to be!
If you could get away from field hockey for a little bit, what would you enjoy doing? Pratt: I enjoy spending quality time with my family and friends. I also love to travel around with my family in our RV and visit different places around the United States.
What are you studying, and what do you enjoy about that? Pratt: I am studying sport management and I have always loved sports and wanted to learn more about how I could play a role in this specific field.
Who were your heroes growing up, and who did you emulate in the backyard or playground? Pratt: When I was younger I looked up to Donovan McNabb and some other guys on the Eagles. Ever since I was little I loved watching Eagles games with my dad and the way McNabb played was inspiring to me.
What was your favorite memory that you took away from your freshman season? Pratt: My favorite memory of freshman year was just hanging out every day with the girls and playing the sport we love together. My favorite part was all the road trips we went on and singing karaoke and our many dance parties.
What is your favorite Christmas tradition that you and your family have/do together? Pratt: On Christmas Eve my family and I always go to church and then go over to my aunt's house for dinner and it's nice to see my extended family. On Christmas we usually just open presents in the morning then my mom or my aunt would host dinner that night.
